F is for Fascinators

Prepare to be fascinated by the latest hair accessory on the market. When I first saw these in stores, it immediately reminded me of something flappers or socialites going out for high tea would wear. But then I got to thinking, wouldn’t these look amazing with Indian clothes? Totally…  

Fascinators will help achieve that wow-factor that we all crave when shopping for that special occasion. These unique hair accessories come in a wide variety of styles such as elaborate headbands, hair clips, combs and more, mixed with a vast array of flowers, feathers, fabrics, jewels and ribbons. For a more extreme look, check out the ones with the cute little hats, referred to as hatinators.  Weddings and formal events are where these fun pieces make their official debut.

Desi Fashionista is calling all brides who dare to be different and asks – why not try a funky fascinator over a typical flower on your special day? Also, for your bridesmaids, imagine the impact it would make to see a sea of your beloved beauties rocking ornate fascinators vs. traditional parandi’s? You can even make your own in the style that suits you and in the quantity you need.

So go to town and make a statement! But be careful not to go so over-the-top that your fascinator overpowers your outfit and becomes a fashion faux-pas. For starters, start off small and then go big!
